I bought this for a acer ferrari notebook running windows 7. i also have a dell laptop using vista. the drive works fine with vista (so assume that there isnt any problem with the drive). But when i put any cd in the drive and hook it up to the acer it just whirls and hangs the cd. Ive tried other devices in the usb ports eg external hard drive and they all work fine.

I bought this because I trust the LG brand and I haven’t been disappointed. Just plug it in and it works, powered by the USB cable so now extra wires. Comes with a second USB cable in case there isn’t enough power from one socket but I haven’t needed this on my netbook.
Plays DVD movies smoothly on a standard spec netbook. Very little noise/vibration. Comes with a decent selection of software. Recommended.

Very neat, stylish drive – plug & play. Haven’t explored all its capability but it’s worked perfectly with a Toshiba netbook.
